Alternative Holiday Sale to Feature More Than 30 Vendors
Area residents looking to get holiday shopping done will have an opportunity to do so when the annual Alternative Holiday Sale returns to East Lansing this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18-19.
The sale will run 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Edgewood United Church on the corner of Hagadorn Road and Beech Street. There will be over 30 vendors offering a variety of items, from artwork to practical goods and food.
Some proceeds from sales will go toward assisting the Peace Education Center of Greater Lansing with its programming and organizing efforts. Supporters of the center were reminded in an email from the organization about the power of purchasing from local artists.
“The Alternative Holiday Sale provides the mid-Michigan area with a wonderful opportunity to shop in a way that makes spending money feel good and do good for the world,” the email said. “Supporting local vendors promotes the economic growth of our area, and also is a sustainable shopping option. There will be many local artists offering gorgeous creations, as well as practical goods for home and body.”
Additionally, the center has teamed up with the Ten Pound Fiddle for live music at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church. The group Windborne will perform. Tickets are available to purchase here.
The Peace Center is in the basement of University Methodist Church, 1120 S. Harrison Road, East Lansing.
