Gary Caldwell for ELi

Payton Baker (pictured here against Okemos) came off the bench and helped lead East Lansing to a win over Haslett on Saturday, March 6.

ELi is privileged to cover the athletic endeavors of the East Lansing High School Trojans, and strives to cover teams and athletes across all varsity sports.

We’re seeking feedback from our readers and the community at large about how to continue bringing the best sports coverage for East Lansing.

Below is a brief survey designed to help us better understand what our readers value and want to see from ELi in the future as it pertains to our sports coverage. Also, as a 501(c)3 non-profit, ELi is reliant on donations from the community to keep bringing you this work, and we’d like to know what you’d be willing to give to support our sports coverage, in particular.

To report on a game or produce a feature, we pay a reporter for covering the event and writing about it. We also pay a photographer to attend, edit, and provide photos. When these events are outside East Lansing, we also pay for mileage reimbursements. Editing, proofreading, and operating our website and email listservs costs money, too.

It takes a team to push out an article, and we believe in fairly compensating our team for their quality work.
