East Lansing High School Targeted by Bomb Threat
Update: At 11:37 a.m. the Ingham County alert system sent out an update stating police had completed a sweep of the high school and found nothing of concern.
East Lansing police have responded to a bomb threat targeted at East Lansing High School, according to emails sent by the district.
The district was notified of the threat at about 9:20 a.m. this morning, according to an email sent to families at 9:41 a.m. that was shared with East Lansing Info.
The high school is being evacuated, with students sent to the football stadium, according to another email sent to families at 10:02 a.m. High school students will be dismissed starting at 10:30 a.m., with walkers and drivers being dismissed first, followed by buses and parent pickup. The email urged parents not to come to the building before 10:30 a.m.
The district’s elementary and middle school buildings were placed in SECURE mode as a precaution, according to another email
