Los Tres Amigos offers familiar dishes with the flavorful kick of authentic Mexican cuisine.
Since 2008, the East Lansing eatery on the city’s eastern edge has offered a deep menu of Mexican-inspired dinners, lunches, appetizers, and desserts. Fajitas, burritos, tacos, enchiladas, and chimichangas are among the perennial favorites, with discerning diners able to spice up the mild sauce and cheeses with a special recipe hot sauce.
“We’re always updating our menu,” said Javier Verde, an administrative assistant, trainer, and occasional server. “We have a lot of options for people, and our customer reviews are very important to us. We listen and try to include everyone.”
The extensive online menu features foods prepared daily and sauces made from scratch — including the stand-out cheese dip. Patrons can choose from dinners, side orders, à la carte selections, and “build your own” options. Beef, pork, chicken, seafood, vegetarian, and vegan cuisines are available for takeout. Appetizers like chips and salsa, guacamole and cheese dip, salads and soups prime the palate, while traditional desserts like flan, sopapillas, cheesecakes, and fried bananas and ice cream satisfy the sweet tooth.
Signature cocktails and Mexican beers are available with pick-up take-out orders, including Los Tres Amigos’ famous margarita.
Verde said the East Lansing location was among the first to open in the growing Michigan-based chain. Los Tres Amigos now operates a total of 15 restaurants throughout lower and mid-Michigan, including Jackson, metro Detroit, Saginaw, and Lansing.
“The university was a hot spot for us,” said Verde. “East Lansing is a beautiful city. We’ve built a close relationships with our customers, including students. We love that people make us a regular part of their celebrations for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and, of course, Cinco de Mayo — a yearly thing in our restaurants.”
The East Lansing Los Tres Amigos opens for takeout and pick-up orders from 3 to 9 p.m. daily and is located at 1227 E. Grand River. Customers can browse the menu online, then phone in orders for pick-up by calling 517-853-5800.
