Spend Locally: Mi Sushi & Noodles
Mi Sushi & Noodles is owned by husband and wife duo, Shanshan Xu and Eddy Liang, also owners of another featured spot, YumYum Bento. Mi Sushi & Noodles is located at 3340 East Lake Lansing Road. The family-owned, modern-style Japanese restaurant that specializes in authentic fusion-style Japanese food opened in 2017.
Popular menu items include sushi, sushi burrito, poke bowls, and ramen, according to Liang. The restaurant’s extensive menu includes lunch specials served between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Sushi burritos come with miso soup and a soda. Options include the signature fried – with spicy crab salad, tamago, cream cheese, masago, green onion, cucumber, avocado, and eel sauce. Other sushi burrito options include shrimp tempura, salmon, ahi tuna, teriyaki beef, chicken katsu, pork katsu, green veggie, and more.
Ramen is another popular menu item, and Mi Sushi offers tonkotsu (Japanese style pork broth, sliced chashu pork, egg, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, corn, seaweed), and volcano ramen for the spicy food lover as well as other varieties. Whether you’re craving an appetizer, soup, salad, specialty rolls, signature rolls, ramen, or curry, Mi Sushi & Noodles probably has a dish for you.
“We used to offer tempura ice cream,” Liang said, “but right now, we only offer takeout, so that’s not on the menu. There’s no delivery because it’s sushi, and we want to keep the quality of the food.”
Mi Sushi & Noodles is open Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m. and closed on Sunday. Takeout orders can be placed online, over the phone, or in the restaurant.
