It’s Election Day!

Primary elections, four county tax proposals and three amendments to the East Lansing City Charter are on the ballot, as voters head to the polls today. 

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. For a breakdown of the charter amendments and tax proposals on the ballot, along with other important local election information, check out East Lansing Info’s voter guide.

Besides the races being wrapped up today, eyes around the country will be on East Lansing’s election after the U.S. Department of Justice vowed to send election monitors to the city. The DOJ said it was sending the monitor to ensure the city complies with election laws, but local officials said the DOJ’s reasoning doesn’t make sense.
