Four East Lansing Meetings You Might Want to Know About
Today and tomorrow will see four local governmental meetings – two in City of East Lansing government, two committees of the East Lansing school board. Here’s information about all of them.
The East Lansing Public Schools Finance Committee meets today, Wednesday, April 29, starting at 2 p.m. No agenda, agenda packet, or prior meeting minutes have been posted for this committee, and the school district has not responded to a request for that information. East Lansing’s City Council meets tomorrow, Thursday, April 30, starting at 9 a.m. The meeting agenda has now been posted; see it here. The agenda includes the seeking of Council’s approval for funding for many public works projects, preparing for rezoning of Lot 4 related to the MSUFCU proposal, use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) money from HUD including emergency federal funds, possible reduction in fees to businesses, management of liquor license renews, and the big whopper – the City’s budget for next year. The East Lansing Public Schools Academic and Technology Committee meets tomorrow, Thursday, April 30, starting at 1:30 p.m. No agenda, agenda packet, or prior meeting minutes have been posted for this committee, and the school district has not responded to a request for that information. East Lansing’s Downtown Development Authority meets tomorrow, Thursday, April 30, starting at 4:30 p.m. The meeting agenda has now been posted; see it here. This meeting is set to be dedicated to the DDA’s plan to provide $250,000 in emergency grants to downtown businesses. We have a special report on that published earlier today.
