Public Invited to Submit Questions for 7th District Democratic Candidate Forum
Democratic candidates running in Michigan’s 7th Congressional District will participate in a virtual forum hosted by the League of Women Voters on July 2. Ahead of the event, the League is inviting members of the public to submit questions for the candidates.
The forum will feature Democratic candidates Bridget Brink, William Lawrence and Matt Maasdam. The winner of the Aug. 4 primary election will advance to face incumbent Republican Rep. Tom Barrett in November in one of nation’s key swing districts.
During the forum, each candidate will be asked the same questions and given equal time to respond. A limited number of virtual attendance slots are available for the event, which will run from 7-8 p.m., and an unedited recording of the event will be posted on YouTube afterward, according to a League of Women Voters press release.
Residents can submit questions for consideration here. To be selected, questions must meet the League’s standards for fairness and relevance to the office. The League will accept question submissions until noon on June 23.
