Support ELi on Giving Tuesday and We Will Give You Our All
Today is Giving Tuesday, a day to support your favorite charities and nonprofit organizations. Did you know that ELi is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit public service organization, which means your financial contribution to support our work is tax deductible?
And now’s a great time to give! East Lansing Info (ELi), your dedicated, local, nonprofit news service is in the midst of our 2022 Sustainability Campaign. We need your help to raise $200,000 in donations and monthly commitments to make sure that this valuable investigative news service keeps running throughout the next year.
We’ve raised $56,790 so far this year, putting us 28% of the way toward our goal. And we have about $34,000 remaining in matching funds to double the gift you give now!
We have set a mini-goal of raising $10,000 between Nov. 23, when we announced our Giving Tuesday push, and the end of the day today. We are so close to our goal! We’ve raised $7,925 since last Tuesday. Can you help us raise the final $2,075 with a donation or monthly commitment?
If you sign up for a MONTHLY commitment using Omella or using PayPal, we will see that matched at the ANNUAL rate!
That means that a $10/month commitment from you turns into $240 for ELi’s work in 2022! A $25/month commitment get us $600 closer to our goal!
If you support us this Giving Tuesday, the ELi team will continue to give you our all, all year long.

Did you catch the impact that our reporting has? Last Monday, Andrew Graham wrote about the awful smell emanating from the sewers in part of the Chesterfield Hills neighborhood – a problem that has existed for several years but was recently brought to ELi’s attention.
Just one day after that article went out, tracing the neighborhoods’ growing pleas to the City for help, City Manager George Lahanas said the City would invest in fixing the problem.
But that’s just one example of the work we do!
We watchdog for you. Today, Andrew and Alice are shining a light on issues regarding the (lack of) transparency in our City government. And, over the past year, the ELi team has kept you up-to-date on development projects downtown, investigated the severe flooding that residents have experienced, and covered issues related to workers and management.
We keep you informed! Our team has also covered many other important issues, from policing in East Lansing, to where to find Covid-19 vaccines, to your local public schools, to the day-to-day work of your local government.
We are here for you! Now we need you to be here for us. Just click this button to donate:
