Islamic Center of East Lansing Holding Vaccine Clinic for Community on Friday
The Islamic Center of East Lansing will be holding a pop-up vaccine clinic from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. this Friday, May 7, for all adults in the community, age 18 and older. Vaccines are available for free.
According to Thasin Sardar of the Islamic Center of East Lansing, a sample survey of 396 attendees of the Islamic Center in mid-April showed 40 percent had received at least one dose of the vaccine, 24 percent were fully vaccinated, and 36 percent were not yet vaccinated.

Results of the survey of Islamic Center attendees, conducted in mid-April.At this time, the Ingham County Health Department is reporting that about 49 percent of eligible adults in the county have received at least one dose of the vaccine. That number includes those who are also fully vaccinated.
The pop-up clinic is welcoming attendees of the Islamic Center as well as members of the wider community.
The clinic is being held at the Islamic Center, located at 920 Harrison Rd., in partnership with Rite Aid. The vaccine is being offered at no cost to recipients, regardless of whether they have health insurance.
Everyone who wants a vaccine should bring photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport. Those with health insurance should also bring their insurance cards with them.
Individuals receiving the vaccine will need to complete this consent form. Filling it out in advance will expedite the process.

On the day of the clinic, overflow parking is available at the University Lutheran Church, located at 1020 S Harrison Rd., right next door.
