Two Events You Might Want to Catch
Before we get to those two events, we want to make sure you know that East Lansing Info has a new service called East Lansing Insider.
Subscribing to East Lansing Insider gets you a free Saturday morning weekly round-up of what’s happened in local news in the past week along with notices of East Lansing events that are coming up soon. (Subscribing at the premium membership rate gets you a lot more.)
We want to let you know today about two events happening that did not make this past Saturday’s mailer.
Today, Wednesday, Sept. 21, you can join a Meet & Greet with Section 2 officers from the East Lansing Police Department. They’ll be at the Starbucks at 1141 E. Grand River Ave. from 5-6 p.m. That’s the Starbucks with the drive-through off Stoddard Avenue.
According to the press release on the event, “ELPD’s sector officers are responsible for working with neighborhoods located in various police sectors throughout the City in order to foster mutually beneficial relationships between community members and police.”
Tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 22, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., you can participate in a Community Input Session regarding the redesigning of Michigan Avenue from the Lansing Capitol to where Michigan Avenue meets Grand River Avenue in downtown East Lansing. Find out more here.
While we have your attention, we’ll throw in a quick reminder that today, the East Lansing Public Library Board of Trustees meets starting at 4:30 at the library. Their agenda includes discussion of intellectual freedom and the library budget.
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission also meets today starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Hannah Community Center. Their meeting will include discussion of how the aquatic center did this year in terms of revenue. Check out the full agenda here.
The Downtown Development Authority’s meeting for tomorrow has been cancelled. But the Building Board of Appeals is still set to meet tomorrow to discuss an appeal related to bathroom fans in rental units, a chronic issue at that board.
