ELPD Chief Kim Johnson on Leave

East Lansing Police Chief Kim Johnson has been placed on paid administrative leave, City Manager Robert Belleman confirmed to ELi.

“We received a complaint, an internal complaint, we’re investigating it,” Belleman said.

Deputy Chiefs Chad Pride and Jennifer Brown will lead the department in the meantime, Belleman said. ELPD officers have been notified of the change via memo.

Belleman said he is unable to give further details, as an investigation is ongoing.
